m'dear, i simply ADORE this kind of post! thank you! random glimpses of lovely bits of life--why i love sites like katiespencilbox.com & rosylittlethings.typepad.com, and yours, natch! xo b
Aw, Bridge! Thank you! I have to say, a la "Steal Like an Artist", that the photography style of katiespencilbox is something that I emulate and hope is/will become my own. I will have to check out the other blog you mentioned, too. Thank you for seeing and reading and commenting, and I'll see you for lunch tomorrow! xoxo, T!
I love love love Katie's Pencil Box! My favorite! I was actually going to tell you about her idea to rent a studio with another artist. Maybe that would be something workable for you? Finding a few other artists who need a space like you mention but don't need it FULL TIME. I really like these photos here. Similar to Bluebird Vintage but more real and true.
Thank you so much for stopping by to read my blog. We should get together sometime for coffee and talk about all of this business. And, yes, I have started putting feelers out there, and my husband and I go back and forth on renting something together. Shared is definitely the way. I'll keep looking.
Bleubird was the only blog I was reading when I started corner blog two years ago. I think she is too busy with her four children to put much effort into it now, but this blog is most definitely influenced by BV. I mentioned that at my talk at ALT. I think my own work shines through in the content, but my format is definitely derivative, and I'm okay with that as long as I keep evolving it! Katie is one lucky lady with that new studio! :)
Hi there! They are vintage Fire•King pieces. I've collected them over the years from kitchenware shops here in San Francisco and my mother found a bunch of great pieces on Ebay for me. I was obsessed for a while! :)
I am an architect, mother, wife and native East Coaster living in San Francisco, and the paper artist behind papel SF. My work can be seen at The Jealous Curator, Colossal, My Modern Metropolis, Apartment Therapy, and the Martha Stewart Living and Williams-Sonoma blogs, among others. Thank you for reading!
