round up: wintery week

Things have pointed inward for the past week, it being crisp, cold, and sometimes rainy. March is coming in like a lion today. It's been a gorgeous winter so far, so I can't complain.

 Rainboot time.

Is it possible I've found way to be a little cleaner while still only
hitting the shower every four days? We shall see.

Chicken in milk for our meeting with our
friend/accountant/guy-who-married-us, Chris.

 The rain ensemble.

 Al fresco foolin'.

The moment before the kids wake up.

Morning ritual, sometimes on the potty.

 A note for friends.

Stella is working hard on her "animal book", which she plans to make into a movie.
Plans, plans, plans! She loves to make 'em!

 She draws, he draws.

Shutterbean's Earl Grey chocolate bundt cake, for our Oscar party.

Brie and honey, for the oven.

 City walk, country walk.

Working the cortisol back out of my body after speaking briefly at the PTA meeting.
Could NOT stop doodling for an hour. How can I perform burlesque and be afraid of
public speaking? Does not compute!

The scene after dinner EVERY NIGHT. No jodas!

My new nightly ritual which is keeping me from snacking, and keeping me warm.

    1. Hi Melissa,
My mother used to do brie and brown sugar, also really tasty!

  2. Great photos! Love the rain-coat, I'm curious how the dry shampoo works, I like the calm before the storm pic (fore they wake), and we have a very similar after diner routine (my husband plays too)! Also good idea about the tea!

    1. Hi Ann!

Thank you! That rain coat is great, except I'm rarely dressed nicely enough when running up the Panhandle to school in the mud to want to reveal what I'm wearing beneath it. It's only for special occasions, I guess!

The dry shampoo has a funny smell and I haven't tried it yet, but I'll let you know!

  3. I used to do that with a cup of tea too. It is a nice way to end the day.

    1. Hi Erin,
I found one tea that really tempts me, some sort of "Christmas Eve" herbal mix, and it is really hitting the spot!

  4. I love the rain ensemble and that brief moment in the morning before everyone else wakes up. I bought a dry shampoo from lush, have yet to use it, don't know why I bought it because I love to wash my hair....I'll save it for a trip somewhere cold :-). Lovely photo post!

    1. Thank you, Tania. I was just telling Ann that I haven't tried that dry shampoo yet either.....I've actually had two real showers this week (a record!) so haven't needed it. Soon!

    1. I don't think of having it often enough. I'm really into coffee, so it's a fun surprise when I remember how much I love tea!
