Some things from around our home that I really love. Living around the corner from a jam packed mid-century furniture and housewares shop has it's advantages (and disadvantages). The toys were found on the cheapy-cheap on Etsy, and I have plans for them once I can pry them from Oliver's hands. They may find their way back to Etsy in their new incarnations.
We scored some lovely items at Stella's school auction last weekend as well. A gorgeous Heath bowl and a wonderful piece of art.
Catherineholm orange lotus enamelware plate design by Grete Prytz Kittelsen.
Move over Fire King, this is my new dishware obsession, and it's earthquake-proof.
I scored it at The Other Shop.

Russel Wright for Conant Ball side chair. Gorgeous.
Nice and wide, too. Also dragged home from The Other Shop.

I've never seen an old toy like this before. So many working parts. Oliver has
taken it over as his "computer". It's charming.

How beautiful is this FP carousel? Is it just me? I'm going
to dismantle it soon and put another "spin" on it.

"Red", by Derek Lynch. Temporarily obscured by desk lamps and burlesque props until we can
properly frame and hang it. Derek is a parent from Stella's school, and does some beautiful
and very interesting work.
Oh, what a fun bunch of things. Love the carousel (might have had that); the chair photo is beautiful; love the heath bowl & photo; & the type writer! HA! what is that the kids must think!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could come along to that shop!

Hi Ann!
DeleteI felt a little materialistic after I posted this, but there are just so many things around these days that inspire me when I look at them, I wanted to photograph them. I wish you could come along to the shop, too! ;)
Love the orange plate!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty! :)
DeleteI love the typewriter. Congrats on your finds.
ReplyDeleteWhen you have a moment...please pickup your awards http://www.muchneededadvice.com/2012/03/10/i-have-a-what-an-award/ ;)
Thanks, Sabrina. And thank you for the award! I just stopped by to check out your answers to the seven questions and to say thanks. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your mid century connections! I'm around the corner from old rattan with ugly floral prints and walmart castoffs...but I digress. My favorites are the red floral plate and the chair (lovely!).
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a little girl though, I woulda really dug that typewriter.
I feel like you need to put in an order with me and let me go shopping/shipping for you for things you can't get out there in the middle of the Pacific! Think about it!
